Nickel Acid Leaching Plant
Overview
Technical Name
- Nickel Atmospheric Leaching (AAL) Process with Hydrochloric Acid (HCl)
- Input Nickel Ore: Laterite (Ni ± 1.3% or over)
Technical Features
- Extraction of nickel at room temperature and pressure using hydrochloric acid (HCl)
- HCl produced by heating magnesium chloride (MgCl2) that is regenerated in the process
- Ensure economic viability, handling and process safety
Advantages
- Reduced investment costs compared to HPAL process (50% reduction in TIC)
- Reduced energy consumption and emissions
- Safer, easier, more stable and flexible operation
- Maximize profits and reduce waste in the production of high-value by-products (magnesium oxide, iron oxide, silica, etc.
- Environmentally friendly and waste-free process with Zero-Liquid Discharge (ZLD) technology
